“Just live your squirrely life and eat the tasty acorns.”
I’ve been watching squirrels a long time but only recently realized they’ve been trying to teach me something. I think I finally get it.
Squirrels don’t question or judge whether they have value. They are alive. They are here. They run around. They find acorns, and eat some, and bury some. They build their homes. They have their babies. They play. They work. They live their little squirrely lives and fulfill their role in the ecosystem.
And I noticed, when they eat acorns and other nuts they find, sometimes they hit a bad one and they spit it out. They move on and try the next one. They eat what is good for them and reject what is bad for them. They just know.
Somehow, watching the squirrels, the lightbulb went on for me. Just live your life. No need to judge and question whether you deserve it. Whether you are worthy. You are here. You are alive. Just play your part in the ecosystem. Do what is yours to do. Do what makes you happy. If you’re not sure what that is – – just try something. If it tastes bad, spit it out and move on. It’s ok. Try a different one. Just eat the good, tasty acorns and you’ll be fine, one step, one moment, one day at a time. ๐ฐ ๐ ๐
